Are there really Berlin folks that have never in their lives have left the city?

I think that is a typical urban legend. The opposite is the case: Berliners like to travel within the city or beyond the Berlin Ring, the highway that is surrounding the metropolis. The cardinal direction hasn´t been playing a major role, but to go westbound always has been fascinated people.
The western vicinity not only comprises the two district-free cities of Potsdam and Brandenburg at the Havel-River, but two very charming counties: Havelland in the Northwest und Potsdam-Mittelmark in the Southwest of the State of Brandenburg.
