Havelland Manor Houses
Quite a few knights´estates in the region are well-preserved.
The famous color lithographies of the Royal Court Stationer Alexander Duncker from the 2. half of the 19th century give an impression of the representative residences of the owners of the knights´estates. In the following decades neglected and run down they shine in new splendor again these days – due to the relentless engagements of their owners.
Maybe you have heard of the famous poem “Herr von Ribbeck auf Ribbeck im Havelland” by Theodore Fontane who made Ribbeck and the pear tree immortal in 1889. Two other wonderful mansions in the Havelland I definitely will not withhold: Kleßen Palace and Nennhausen Palace.
